An enemy army already waits on the other side of the meadow: a hungry tyrant rex, a pack of raptors, hill giants, a fire-breathing dragon. You get a budget and a unit limit — now pick your fighters and place them on your half of the field.

Press START and everything comes alive. Wolves sprint, bulls and three-horns charge, archers and gunslingers shoot from the back, giants stomp and send little soldiers flying. Nobody waits for orders: every unit finds the nearest enemy and fights until one side is gone.

Win with as much of your army alive as you can to earn three stars and more coins. Unlock 41 units, from a wild hog for $3 to a fire dragon for $400, power up your whole army with runes, then build any battle you can imagine in the free sandbox.

How to play

1. Pick a level: the enemy army is shown on the far side, your budget and unit limit at the top.
2. Tap a unit card at the bottom, then tap or drag on the blue zone to place it. Tap a placed unit to remove it.
3. Press START and watch. Use the speed buttons for slow motion or fast forward.
4. Keep at least half of your army's health for three stars, a fifth for two.
5. Spend coins on new units and runes, and try the free units each level lends you.

Tips & tricks

• Many cheap fighters surround a single giant; big area attackers crush packed crowds.
• Put melee units in front and ranged units behind them.
• Chargers hit twice as hard on their first blow after a run-up.
• Flyers ignore the crowd and go straight for their target — archers and gunners deal with them best.
• Lost a level? Reload your last army, swap one or two units and try again.
