About Ninja Blade: Samurai Road

Bandit samurai have taken the road from the bamboo village to the shogun's castle. You are a lone ninja with a katana, a pouch of shuriken and one healing gourd, and every arena along the way locks you in until the last foe falls.

Tap to chain a combo that ends in a power strike, hold to charge a slash that smashes shields, dash through a blow at the last moment for a slow-motion perfect dodge and a quadruple-damage counter. Fill a foe's stun meter and finish it with a critical blow. Jump, spin in the air, slam down.

Spirit from every defeated enemy is yours to keep, even when you fall. Spend it in the Dojo on hero levels, weapon upgrades, shuriken, healing gourds and four skills, and use the gold from chests to buy eight blades, from the plain katana to the Storm Katana.

How to play

1. Move with the stick on the left; press JUMP twice for a double jump.
2. Tap ATTACK for a combo: the last hit is a two-part power strike. Hold ATTACK to charge a heavy slash that breaks shields.
3. Press DASH right before an enemy hits for a perfect dodge: time slows and your next hit deals four times the damage.
4. Hit a foe until it is stunned (spinning stars), then strike again for a critical blow.
5. Clear every wave, open the chest, and spend spirit and gold in the Dojo before the next stage.

Tips & tricks

• Watch for the red flash: that enemy is about to strike. Dash or step back.
• Shield guards block hits from the front; a charged slash breaks the shield at once.
• Archers and axe throwers keep their distance; a shuriken or a dash closes the gap. Your sword can cut arrows out of the air.
• Jump over the swamp oni's shockwave.
• Stuck on a stage? Replay an earlier one for spirit, level up and upgrade your blade.
